Crews are attempting a generator fix to restore full power to KNAU Classical 88.7 atop Mormon Mountain. Outage times for our KNAU News/Talk transmitter atop Devil's Head on Mt. Elden remain dependent on APS restoration of power to that location. We'll provide updates when available. Streaming is not impacted. Thank you for your patience & support!

APS has cut power to both transmitter sites for KNAU Classical and KPUB News/Talk "...for safety due to extreme fire risk... [in] high fire-risk communities in the Flagstaff area." Officials in Coconino County have confirmed the first death related to COVID-19 in the county.

The person was a man in his 50s with underlying health conditions. Coconino County Health and Human Services is working to identify anyone who may have had close contact with the individual. They’ll be asked to quarantine or isolate and will be monitored by healthcare personnel for fever and respiratory symptoms.

“Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time,” said County Incident Commander and Deputy County Manager Dr. Marie Peoples in a press release. “We share in this family’s grief and are deeply committed to doing all we can to ensure the health and safety of our community. We urge everyone to take precautions to protect themselves and their family including washing their hands frequently, staying home when they are sick and contacting a healthcare provider for medical guidance. “

Coconino County has confirmed 21 positive cases of COVID-19 and there are 326 cases in Arizona. Officials are reminding the public that it can be a serious disease and are urging people to wash their hands, avoid touching their face, avoid contact with others who are sick, and stay home when they’re sick. COVID-19 spreads through sneezes or coughs and symptoms appear in two to 14 days. Those who experience shortness of breath are encouraged to contact a healthcare provider.
