Twitter Analysis Shows Arizona Is #1 In Anti-Face Mask Activity

marketwatch

Analysis conducted by the website Survival at Home, ranks Arizona as the most resistant state in the country when it comes to wearing face masks.

AZCentral reports Survival at Home compiled over 150 thousand geotagged Twitter posts that referenced hashtags specific to non-compliance of wearing face coverings and was able to create a map of the hottest spots for anti-mask activity across the U.S. Arizona emerges as the most resistant state, even as the coronavirus surges statewide, with record numbers of new infections, hospitalizations and ventilator use. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has not mandated face mask wearing amid the pandemic, instead giving the authority to cities and towns to choose. Nevada, Florida, Idaho and Maine are runners-up for anti-mask activity, according to the analysis.
