Arizona Virus Hospitalizations Continue To Go Down Slightly

AP, file

Arizona is continuing to see slight downward trends with coronavirus hospitalizations as officials find more related deaths.

The state Department of Health Services on Tuesday found 3,500 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and 134 deaths. The death toll is shy of a recent daily record of 147 deaths. Officials caution that higher numbers are attributed to a review of death certificates. In total now, the state has seen nearly 150,000 cases and 2,900 deaths. Meanwhile, the number of in-patient hospitalizations, ICU bed occupancy and ventilator use were about the same or slightly lower than the previous day. In terms of in-patient bed availability, the state’s hospitals are at 83% capacity.
