Suspect In Custody After Shooting Outside US Court In Phoenix

The FBI says a suspect is in custody following a drive-by shooting outside the federal courthouse in downtown Phoenix Tuesday that wounded a security officer.

The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police released a picture of a silver sedan spotted leaving the Sandra Day O’Connor courthouse area just before noon. No other information was given about the suspect.

A Phoenix city council member says the officer was hit in the vest in front of the building. According to FBI officials, they don’t believe a continued public safety threat exists following the shooting.

It comes after the weekend ambush of two Los Angeles County deputies who were in their parked car when a man walked up and fired multiple rounds.
