President Donald Trump’s campaign has filed a lawsuit against the State of Arizona over allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 election.
There is currently no verifiable evidence to substantiate those claims. The lawsuit alleges election officials rejected ballots from qualified voters in Maricopa County and that several witnesses say they observed poll workers incorrectly handling voters’ ballots. The Trump campaign is suing Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes, along with several other election officials. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey released a statement today saying there are roughly 75-80 thousand ballots left to count and that the state is following election law to the letter. Secretary of State Katie Hobbs maintains there is no merit to claims of widespread voter fraud in Arizona. The Republican National Committee and Arizona Republican Party are also listed as plaintiffs in the suit.
