Arizona Reports 4,845 New Known COVID-19 Cases, 262 Deaths

AP, file

Arizona health officials are reporting more than 4,800 new COVID-19 cases and more than 260 deaths.

The state Department of Health Services released the latest figures on virus cases and hospitalizations on Wednesday. Arizona’s total number of cases since the pandemic began now stands at 690,544 with 11,528 deaths. Hospitalizations, meanwhile, continued to trend downward for a ninth day. Officials say 4,663 were hospitalized due to COVID-19 on Tuesday. Within that group, 1,050 are in the ICU. The number of infections in Arizona is thought to be far higher than reported because many have not been tested.
