Grand Canyon North Rim to begin seasonal transitions to day-use

NPS

Officials at Grand Canyon National Park will soon begin transitioning the North Rim to day-use operations.

The Grand Canyon Lodge will close for the season Oct. 16 and limited visitor services will be available. Officials urge people venturing out to be self-sufficient and bring enough food and water for the day.

In addition, the North Rim campground will accept reservations through Oct. 31 and will close for the season the next day. The entrance gate on State Route 67 will close Nov. 30 or after the area’s first major snowstorm.

Several other changes to North Rim services will also take place in the coming weeks.
