Navajo Nation health officials Monday reported no additional deaths from COVID-19 for the 25th time in 40 days. They also confirmed 39 new known infections of the virus.
Based on recorded cases from Oct. 22 through Nov. 4, the Navajo Department of Health Monday issued an advisory for 56 communities, including Tuba City, Kayenta, Ganado and Chinle, due to uncontrolled spread of COVID.
Tribal officials say vaccines for all people 5 years and older are widely available at health care facilities and they’re urging residents to avoid large holiday gatherings and continue to take virus safety precautions.
The known total death toll on the reservation since the pandemic began is just under 1,500.
