Deadline Approaching For Voter Registration In Arizona

npr.org

Arizona elections officials say time is running out to register to vote in the state's Presidential Preference Election on March 17, 2020.   The deadline to register is before midnight on Tuesday, February 18th.

The Presidential Preference Election is not a primary election. That means Arizona’s open primary law does not apply to the Presidential Preference election and only Democrats can cast ballots in the election on March 17th. The Arizona Republican Party decided not to participate in the Presidential Preference Election this year.

Registered voters that have no party affiliation or are registered independent or with another political party and want to vote in the PPE must change their party affiliation to Democratic by February 18.

There’s more information at the Arizona elections website: Arizona.vote.
