Evacuation Orders Lifted In Mohave County Near Wildfire

Bureau of Land Management/Colorado River District Office

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has lifted evacuation orders near a wildfire that broke out last weekend in the Hualapai Mountains.

Residents of about 200 homes in Pine Lake near Kingman will be allowed to return to their homes, but the area will be closed to visitors and proof of residence will be required at a checkpoint.

This week’s moisture helped firefighters in containing some of the blaze but hot and dry weather is forecast for the weekend.

Fire managers say more detailed recent mapping of the wildfire shows it’s nearly 1,300 acres with about 34% containment. The cause is under investigation.
