Mohave County Set To Receive Major Influx Of COVID-19 Vaccine

AP, file

The Mohave County Department of Public Health says it’ll receive 8,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine next week.

It’s a major increase for the county, which has seen about 3,000 delivered in recent weeks. Officials say they’ve been pushing for an increased allocation of vaccine and they’ll now be able to boost appointments.

“We’ve been aggressively working every angle to increase the weekly allocation from ADHS. This work has paid off and will significantly increase the accessibility of appointments in each community," said County Health Director Denise Burley in a press release.

In addition, Embry Women’s Health will resume administering vaccinations in Kingman, Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City after a technical reporting issue was resolved. Only those in the 1A and prioritized 1B categories are currently eligible to receive shots in Mohave County.
