NTSB Issues Report On Fatal Train Crash Near Kingman In 2018

The National Transportation Safety Board has determined that the failure of a BNSF Railway crew to adhere to restricted speed requirements caused a fatal train crash near Kingman almost three years ago.

Authorities said one BNSF employee was killed and another seriously injured in the June 2018 collision. The NTSB said in its report released Thursday that the collision occurred when a BNSF intermodal train, operating in centralized traffic control territory, collided with the rear of a slow-moving BNSF work train. The work train was moving in reverse to drop off an employee before traveling west to exit the main track.
