Suspect Arrested In Downtown Flagstaff Shooting

Flagstaff Police Department

Flagstaff police have arrested a man accused of a shooting in downtown Flagstaff two weeks ago.

Flagstaff officers and U.S. Marshal’s Deputies from the Violent Offender Taskforce yesterday took Flagstaff resident Pedro Herrera into custody without incident in Phoenix. He allegedly shot one person during a confrontation between two groups near Route 66 on July 18.

FBI agents also assisted in arresting Herrera and he was booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges related to the shooting including attempted homicide and aggravated assault. The investigation is ongoing and the victim was expected to survive at the time of the incident.
