Type 1 Team Assumes Command Of Bush Fire

Inciweb

A Type 1 incident management team has assumed command of the Bush Fire burning in east-central Arizona north of Phoenix. Firefighters plan to use burnout operations today in an effort to hold the wildfire west of Highway 188.

Residents of Brownsville, Jake’s Corner, Slate Creek, and Pioneer Pass were all ordered to leave yesterday, joining the previously evacuated communities of Tonto Basin, Punkin Center, Sunflower, and Apache Lake. The wildfire is now 150,000 acres with 7 percent containment. It’s the largest of several fires currently burning in Arizona.

There will be an online Bush Fire community meeting tonight at 6 pm on Fb.com/bushfireinfo.
