The Prescott Farmers Market (PFM) will welcome customers for its fifth winter season each Saturday beginning November 10. The winter market will continue through May 4 in the south lot at Prescott High School, 1050 Ruth Street, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will not be a market on Saturday, November 17 and instead will be a special pre-Thanksgiving market on Sunday, November 18 at the same time and place. The winter market has doubled in size in recent years with several new vendors selling products like kombucha and mushrooms. “It’s amazing to watch the winter market grow each year,” said Executive Director Kathleen Yetman. “Customers are frequently surprised at how many vegetables are grown in our area even in the dead of winter.” Each week at the market, customers can find fresh vegetables, fruits, baked goods, eggs, nuts, grass-fed beef, pork and poultry. Local farmers grow a variety of vegetables throughout the season, including leeks, potatoes, beets, radishes, carrots, salad mix, onions, sunchokes, kale and spinach. In the spring customers can look forward to fresh flower bouquets. The market is a great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch; tamales, burritos, breakfast sandwiches, samosas, grass-fed burgers, baked goods and fresh-brewed coffee are available weekly. Customers can swipe their SNAP/EBT, debit or credit cards to receive tokens at the information booth. The Double Up Food Bucks Arizona program allows customers to double their SNAP benefits at the market, up to $20 per market visit. All vendors always accept cash. PFM is a producer-only farmers market, meaning every item sold is either grown or produced by the seller using Arizona-grown ingredients.
