Bird enthusiasts join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginner and advanced birders. Most year-round birds are found in the riparian area next to Oak Creek or along the field behind the Visitor Center. The Audubon Society has designated Red Rock State Park as part of the Lower Oak Creek Important Birding Area (IBA) because of the many species that live or visit here. Please meet up with the leader on the viewing deck above the visitor center.

Wrapped in Love Diaper Bank is running a donation and children’s book drive September 8 through October 14. They provide diapers, period products, incontinence supplies, and wipes to families across Yavapai County. They’re also collecting children’s books for holiday diaper bundles. And during Diaper Need Awareness Week, September 14–20, they’re teaming up with the Arizona Diaper Bank to raise one million diapers statewide which includes matching funds that double your donation. Every morning, a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk may include geology, wildlife, history, archeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk, enhancing the learning experience. The program is included with park entrance fees.

The Senior Book Club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Joe C. Montoya Senior and Community Center.

“Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day” features a stellar ensemble cast, including Haley Bennett, Elyas M'Barek, Jack Whitehall, Lily Allen, Sally Phillips, Jennifer Saunders and Timothy Spall.

Passionate astronomer Katharine Hilbery does everything she can to avoid romantic love and marriage.

Fun and contemporary in tone, this refreshing film showcases an ensemble of humorous performances against the ravishing backdrop of London in 1910, advances in science and technology and crumbling Edwardian patriarchy.

Virginia Woolf’s story is as relevant to today as it ever was: women balancing romantic love with careers.

“Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher and Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatres Sept. 11-17. Showtimes will be Friday, Sept. 11 at 4:00 p.m.; Saturday and Monday, Sept. 12 and 14 at 3:00 p.m.; Sunday and Tuesday, Sept. 13 and 15 at 7:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 3:30 p.m.

Meet the filmmaker! Director, writer and film subject (and Sedona resident) Timothy Smith — along with special guests featured in “The Green Realm” — will be here in person to host the film and Q&A discussion after each screening.

“The Green Realm” is a magical yet real story about Timothy Smith’s spiritual awakening and his connection to the Green Realm (The Fairies). Timothy's awakening led him up to the stars (Venus) where he was greeted by three Magnificent green beings (the one in the middle had a Kings Crown on) and the King telepathically told him to raise his frequency and vibration.

Timothy went through six weeks of spiritual boot camp with his spiritual guides. They showed him three previous past lives … and that he had to heal in order to bring in his gifts from the Universe. Timothy was later told to contact his soul mate (Angel Messenger, Language of Light singer) Shekina Rose who just happened to live in mystical Sedona. Timothy and Shekina found love. The Fairies came in and showed their nature magic to Timothy.

Timothy is the owner of Sedona Music and Film Group and has been in the music industry for thirty-five-plus years.

The Verde Village Community Connection (VVCC) invites all interested neighbors and community members to an open follow-up meeting regarding the Del Rio Pond on Wednesday, September 16, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. The gathering will take place at the VVCC Community Center, located at 4855 E. Broken Saddle Drive in Cottonwood.
Building on the discussions from the recent VVCC-hosted Town Hall with Nikki Check, this meeting offers residents a dedicated space to ask follow-up questions and share perspectives. Community members are encouraged to review the background history and recent research on the pond at vvcc.life/pond prior to the event to help formulate their questions.
