November Nature Narratives at the Highlands Center: Acclaimed Arizona author Ken Lamberton

Join award-winning Arizona author Ken Lamberton for an intimate talk and book signing celebrating the 25th anniversary of his landmark debut, Wilderness and Razor Wire: A Naturalist's Observations from Prison. Winner of the John Burroughs Medal for nature writing, this unforgettable book chronicles a naturalist’s close-up encounters with the wild—swallows, saguaros, and desert seasons—while living behind prison walls in southern Arizona. It’s a story about how attentiveness to the more-than-human world can widen a life, even in the narrowest of places.
Hear Lamberton reflect on desert ecology, resilience, and the craft of seeing—then stay to have your book signed.
NOTE: Copies of this book are scarce and difficult to obtain. You will need to source your own copy and bring it with you to the event, as books will not be provided.
When: Monday, November 3, 12:30 PM
Where: Kieckhefer Classroom, Highlands Center for Natural History
