Explore the vibrant world of oil pastels in this dynamic workshop - perfect for beginners and experienced artists. Learn the basics of layering, blending, and mixing colors. Discover how to use oil pastels to create still lifes, and portraits with depth and dimension. Embrace the expressive nature of oil pastels and nurture your creativity in a supportive, encouraging setting.

Helen Hawley is a multimedia artist who works in installation, painting, poetry, and video. She is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northern Arizona University. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her artwork has taken her to artist residencies in the U.S., Germany, and Senegal. Sharing her enthusiasm for art, Helen has led community workshops for River Rats for the Arts and other Adult Education programs.

Class meets four days: Monday, June 17 through Thursday, June 20, 1:30 to 4 p.m.
