The Bear Necessities: An Introduction to Woodcarving Workshop

The Bear Necessities: An Introduction to Woodcarving Workshop

Join us on Wednesday, March 25th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sharlot Hall Museum for a hands-on, beginner-level, woodcarving workshop!
Try your hand at one of humanity’s oldest crafts at this beginner-friendly woodcarving workshop at the Sharlot Hall Museum. Enthusiasts and experts alike will transform a simple block of wood into a charming hand-carved bear. Along the way, you’ll learn essential carving skills including types of cuts, how to work with wood grain, and how to handle a carving knife safely.

This workshop is all about learning new skills, not creating a “perfect” bear. You will be surprised by how much you can accomplish with just a knife, a glove, and a little guidance.

All materials are included in the ticket price. Every participant will head home with their own carving knife, safety glove, and their newly carved wooden bear. Workshop tickets include general admission to the Sharlot Hall Museum as well.

Minors under the age of 13 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Space is limited, sign-up now to secure a spot!
