The Sacred Mountain Prayer Run is all about cultural, communal, spiritual, emotional, and physical balance and unity, and seeks to bring all participating communities together in observation of these values and beliefs. The synergy of running & spirituality reinforces deep community ties that carry throughout the year while acknowledging and honoring Flagstaff ’s Native American heritage & history. The Sacred Mountain Prayer Run is open to everyone!
For a virtual run, participants will complete their selected distance on a marked course or treadmill anytime that best suits them. Times and distance can be emailed to hpwc@nacainc.org, or participants can take a picture and tag us on social media. Bird enthusiasts join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginner and advanced birders. The Audubon Society has designated Red Rock State Park as part of the Lower Oak Creek Important Birding Area (IBA). Please meet up with the leader on the viewing deck above the visitor center.

The Prescott Farmers Market takes place Saturdays from 7:30am to 12:00pm at 900 Iron Springs Road (Dignity Health, YRMC Miller Valley lot at Iron Springs/Miller Valley) from April 5, 2025 through October 25, 2025. This market hosts local farmers, ranchers and food and craft vendors each week. Customers can find fresh specialty produce, meat, eggs, bread, baked goods, delicious ready-to-eat foods and more. As a vital part of the economy, the mission of Prescott Farmers Market is to support and expand local agriculture, cultivate a healthy community and increase access to affordable local food. This event, known as parkrun, takes place every Saturday morning - same time, same place, same 5K distance. Run, walk, jog, walk the dog, push the grandchildren in a stroller, or volunteer - this event is free, for everyone, forever. It is an opportunity to get outside into the fresh air with a bunch of like-minded folks. It’s is worldwide. NACA Health Promotion invites you and your family to join us at some of our favorite Flagstaff hiking trails! The Spring into Summer Hiking Series runs from May until September and takes participants to some of the most scenic and picturesque locations Flagstaff and the surrounding areas have to offer. Hikes are scheduled monthly, on a Saturday, and range from 1.5 to 5 miles in length. These hikes appeal to new and seasoned hikers alike, and feature guest speakers and demonstrations each month
Pre-registration is encouraged, to hold your spot, but you can register the morning of the hike. Everyone is welcome to attend and explore! Drink plenty of water, wear sunblock, sunglasses, and a cap for added shade.

Wondering what to do for summer break? Come to the Highlands Center for Nature Camp!Campers will spend all of their time outdoors, learning about different field sciences. Campers will go from being ornithologists to chemists, to entomologists to anything in between. We will explore, play games, take part in team building, and craft and discover more about the Central Highlands around us. There are limited spots in each age group, register soon!
The Verde Valley Farmers’ Market is held on Saturdays from 8 to 11 in downtown Camp Verde. You can find the best local produce, baked goods, preserves, meat, nuts, and honey that the Verde Valley has to offer. On Saturday, June 7th at 8:00am at Fort Tuthill County Park, the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra is hosting the annual Beethoven 5k! This is a community run that celebrates classical music, nature, community and the 75 years of joy and inspiration FSO has offered to all residents of Flagstaff. The run is a timed event sure to suit the competitive nature of running enthusiasts.
However, walkers and joggers are all welcome. Each participant will receive a custom race tee-shirt in a technical fabric material and a timing bib. Plus, top placers will receive an award.
