Navajo Nation Reports No New Known COVID-19 Infections

Navajo Nation Council

Navajo Nation health officials yesterday reported no new known cases of COVID-19 and no recent deaths from the virus.

Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez says though federal guidelines for outdoor mask wearing have loosened, face coverings still must be worn at all times in public on the reservation.

The tribe continues to aggressively vaccinate residents against COVID. So far, nearly 96,000 people – more than have the Navajo Nation’s population –been fully vaccinated. Nearly 1,300 people on the reservation have died from COVID since the beginning of the pandemic.
