States Of Emergency Declared In Flagstaff, Coconino County Following Flooding

Scott Heinsius

Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy and Coconino County Chair of the Board of Supervisors Matt Ryan have declared states of emergency following this week’s monsoon flooding.

Heavy rain over the Museum Fire burn scar has sent water rushing through some east Flagstaff neighborhoods and other parts of the city since Tuesday. The declaration allows the city and county to expand emergency funds from all available sources and request assistance from the state.

The Museum Fire burn area received more than an inch of rain Wednesday and some areas of the city saw more than 2-and-a-half inches of rain.
