Ducey Signs Bill Into Law Legalizing To-Go Cocktails

eatthis.com

Governor Doug Ducey has signed a bill into law allowing bars, liquor stores and restaurants to sell to-go cocktails.

The Republican says it’ll expand business opportunities in the state. Last year, Ducey issued an executive order temporarily legalizing to-go cocktails to help ailing businesses bring in revenue amid the worsening pandemic, but bar owners challenged it in court and halted the order.

The new law was a result of months of negotiations and will go into effect in the fall. The hospitality industry says it’ll give bars and restaurants a chance to recover from a year of limited profits.
