Black Lives Matter


A Black Lives Matter demonstration over the weekend in Flagstaff turned tense when a motorist who flipped-off the crowd was surrounded by protesters, and then left his vehicle brandishing a handgun.


Amid protests over systematic racism and police brutality, Phoenix Police last week outlawed a controversial neck restraint officers use to subdue subjects. But some other Arizona police departments have already banned it. KNAU’s Ryan Heinsius reports.

Protesters have been galvanized around the world by the death of George Floyd, an African American man who pleaded for air and later died after a white police officer in Minnesota pressed his knee into his neck.
