Mohave County officials have lifted a ban on outdoor fires and fireworks in unincorporated areas below 4,000 feet.

A preliminary report released Tuesday in a fatal plane crash near Wikieup includes an account of the possibility that a wing fell off. The July 10th crash killed two firefighting personnel who were responding to a wildfire in northwestern Arizona.

A group called the Indigenous Peoples Burning Network is working to preserve the culture of fire for future generations.

Yavapai County has downgraded to Stage I Fire Restrictions as monsoon moisture lessens the risk of wildfires. National Forests across the region, including the Coconino, Kaibab and Apache Sitgreaves, have all lifted fire restrictions due to recent rainfall.
