Two Storms Set to Deliver a Wet Week

A wet weather pattern is in the works. Tonight, snow and rain will develop and continue into Wednesday morning. Snow levels will hover near 7000’ (with snow and rain interchanging at times around Flagstaff). The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories for elevations above 7000’, where travel will be hazardous due to snow.  In addition, soaking rainfall is in store for lower elevations, where up to two inches could fall by the end of the week.  Due to the relatively warm nature of the storm, the greatest snowfall totals will remain over the mountains above 7500'. Currently, the forecast only calls for light amounts of snow for the Flagstaff-Williams-Grand Canyon region, though this could change if lower snow levels occur.

The heaviest period of precipitation will be Tuesday afternoon. The storm will clear through the day Wednesday with another storm due late Thursday into early Friday.
