From Wishcycling to Wonder: Transforming Mis-Recycled Materials into Inspiration and Empowerment engages youth and the community in creating art and awareness from commonly mis-recycled items, such as plastic bags, Styrofoam, and some bottles. The project educates the community about recycling contamination, showcases creative alternatives for materials that cannot be recycled, and amplifies the voices of communities most impacted by environmental degradation. Through hands-on art-making and public exhibition, participants and community members are empowered to rethink waste and explore sustainable solutions.

Art projects created by the students at Trailblazers Learning Community will be on display, coordinated by local artist Erika Tsouras. The Big Read will also be on site hosting a shadowbox-making workshop!
