This event, known as parkrun, takes place every Saturday morning - same time, same place, same 5K distance. Run, walk, jog, walk the dog, push the grandchildren in a stroller, or volunteer - this event is free, for everyone, forever. It is an opportunity to get outside into the fresh air with a bunch of like-minded folks. It’s is worldwide. Join us for our 29th year! "See your neighbors. Meet your farmers. Know your food." The Prescott Farmers Market takes place Saturdays from 7:30am to 12:00pm at 900 Iron Springs Road (Dignity Health, YRMC Miller Valley lot at Iron Springs/Miller Valley) from April 4 through October 31, 2026. This market hosts local farmers, ranchers and food and craft vendors each week. Customers can find fresh specialty produce, meat, seafood, eggs, bread, baked goods, delicious ready-to-eat foods and more. As a vital part of the economy, the mission of Prescott Farmers Market is to support and expand local agriculture, cultivate a healthy community and increase access to affordable local food. Bird enthusiasts join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginner and advanced birders. Most year-round birds are found in the riparian area next to Oak Creek or along the field behind the Visitor Center. The Audubon Society has designated Red Rock State Park as part of the Lower Oak Creek Important Birding Area (IBA) because of the many species that live or visit here. Please meet up with the leader on the viewing deck above the visitor center.

An eclectic market featuring a mix of vintage, upcycled, artisan, antiques, previously loved treasures! Grab some lunch too! Located on Rte 66 in historic downtown Flagstaff.

Every morning, a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk may include geology, wildlife, history, archeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk, enhancing the learning experience. The program is included with park entrance fees.

The Coconino County Fair takes place over Labor Day Weekend each year. The 77th Annual Coconino County Fair returns Labor Day Weekend, Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Fort Tuthill County Park Fairgrounds. For more than seven decades, the County Fair has celebrated agricultural traditions, community spirit, and family fun. This year’s event promises four full days of entertainment, contests, rides, food, and unforgettable memories. Step back in time at the Ft. Whipple Museum during our monthly Living History Day. On the first Saturday of each month from April through November, Living History interpreters in accurate period attire bring the history of Ft. Whipple to life through demonstrations and discussions.

Learn about the military and medical artifacts used during the time Ft. Whipple was in operation. Demonstrations may include medical tools, firearms, and other items commonly found in the kit of a typical trooper stationed on the Arizona frontier.

Living History at Ft. Whipple Museum runs from April through November, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the history of the fort through engaging, hands-on interpretation.

Drop-in to the weekly Casual Chess program, where adult and teen players of all levels are welcome. Whether you're brand new to the game, a casual player, or an advanced competitor, Casual Chess offers a supportive and engaging environment. Come play, learn, and enjoy chess with others in your community. Boards and clocks will be available.  Chess Meetup is held in partnership with Prescott Chess Club. Club membership is not required. 

Transform your personal experiences into art, by exploring memory, identity, and the moments that shape us. This will be a workshop for those 18+ with handouts and prompts for writing. Memoir and autobiographical writing allows us to capture moments, reflect on our experiences, and shape our personal histories into compelling narratives. We will do short readings and exercises designed to loosen us up, access our creativity and writing voice, and jumpstart a writing practice.
