The Sedona Railroaders will have their annual holiday train show this year from December 12th to December 27th. It will be closed on the 24th and 25th. This traditional holiday event in its 30th year will take place at the Arches at Sedona shopping center in the Village of Oak Creek, 6101 State Route 179, Suite D-E. This new location is next door to Absolute Bikes. The hours will be daily 11 AM to 4:30 PM. The show is free to the public.
This year’s show is again sponsored by the Sedona McDonald’s.
No Christmas would be complete without memories of the old-fashioned department store’s displays of miniature toy trains. “Get on Board!” and enjoy the re-creation of some of these memories through stunning visual images of operating model railroad equipment. This year’s exhibit will include an American Flyer S gauge layout. O, N, and HO gauges will also be on display.

The Mansion is festively decorated in turn-of-the-century style with wreaths, garlands, greenery and a towering fir tree trimmed with old-fashioned ornaments. Guided tours during this time include glimpses of folklore and traditions of Christmas, both past and present. Cost $18 Adult, $12 Youth. The duplex-style Riordan Mansion remains one of the finest examples of American Arts and Crafts-style architecture open to the public today. Designed by the architect of the impressive El Tovar Hotelat the Grand Canyon, Charles Whittlesey, the homes were built in 1904 with indoor plumbing, hotand cold running water, central heat, and electric lights, reflecting the most modern technology anddesign of the time.Seen by guided tour only, the interiors of the Riordan family homes look essentially as they did in 1904.The homes showcase original family belongings including fine examples of early Stickley furniture.
Volunteer opportunities available include Front Desk, Interpretive Tours, Grounds and Maintenance services.
