Every morning, a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk may include geology, wildlife, history, archeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk, enhancing the learning experience. The program is included with park entrance fees.

$25 at the door.

Ticket holders will have access to see and purchase the work of 15 amazing potters prior to the general public. Complimentary signature DA Ranch Wine is provided by VVPF and DA Ranch, food trucks & beer by Verde Brewing Company will be available, and live entertainment with Ryan David Orr.

This event, known as parkrun, takes place every Saturday morning - same time, same place, same 5K distance. Run, walk, jog, walk the dog, push the grandchildren in a stroller, or volunteer - this event is free, for everyone, forever. It is an opportunity to get outside into the fresh air with a bunch of like-minded folks. It’s is worldwide. Every Saturday about 350,000 people all around the world are doing their own local parkrun. Visit our website and complete a one-time registration so your parkrun efforts can be recorded. Bird enthusiasts join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginner and advanced birders. Most year-round birds are found in the riparian area next to Oak Creek or along the field behind the Visitor Center. The Audubon Society has designated Red Rock State Park as part of the Lower Oak Creek Important Birding Area (IBA) because of the many species that live or visit here. Please meet up with the leader on the viewing deck above the visitor center.

Verde Valley Pottery Festival: Friday, November 13, 2026, 4–6 pm (First Pick Friday, $25 admission); Saturday, November 14, 2026, 10 am–5 pm & Sunday, November 15, 2026, 10 am–3 pm. Now an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, the Verde Valley Pottery Festival returns to D.A.Ranch Vineyards to celebrate and expand appreciation for contemporary studio ceramics. Enjoy a full weekend of pottery shopping from Arizona artists, captivating live wheel-throwing and surface design demonstrations, hands-on family clay activities, local food, live music, and estate-grown wine. Artist, musician and educator, Ed Kabotie will share stories and artwork from his father, Michael Kabotie, who was a founding member of the Artist Hopid Collective. This talk compliments our exhibit Artist Hopid Unveiled which explores the bold vision of Artist Hopid, a groundbreaking collective formed in 1973 by Hopi artists Michael Kabotie, Delbridge Honanie, Terrance Talaswaima, Neil David Sr., and Milland Lomakema.

This talk is free for MNA members and free with regular museum admission.

The Museum of Northern Arizona extends its gratitude to the Terra Foundation for American Art for support of the Artist Hopid Unveiled exhibition.
