Verde Valley Pottery Festival: Friday, November 13, 2026, 4–6 pm (First Pick Friday, $25 admission); Saturday, November 14, 2026, 10 am–5 pm & Sunday, November 15, 2026, 10 am–3 pm. Now an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, the Verde Valley Pottery Festival returns to D.A.Ranch Vineyards to celebrate and expand appreciation for contemporary studio ceramics. Enjoy a full weekend of pottery shopping from Arizona artists, captivating live wheel-throwing and surface design demonstrations, hands-on family clay activities, local food, live music, and estate-grown wine. Learning more about the native plants and trees in the local area is a great way to enhance any hike. Our volunteer guides explain how plant life is interconnected with indigenous cultures, pioneer settlers, and people in our contemporary times. This interpretive experience lasts between 1½-2 hours and takes place along easy trails near the Visitor Center. Please bring water and wear suitable footwear for walking on dirt trails.

Artist, musician and educator, Ed Kabotie will share stories and artwork from his father, Michael Kabotie, who was a founding member of the Artist Hopid Collective. This talk compliments our exhibit Artist Hopid Unveiled which explores the bold vision of Artist Hopid, a groundbreaking collective formed in 1973 by Hopi artists Michael Kabotie, Delbridge Honanie, Terrance Talaswaima, Neil David Sr., and Milland Lomakema.

This talk is free for MNA members and free with regular museum admission.

The Museum of Northern Arizona extends its gratitude to the Terra Foundation for American Art for support of the Artist Hopid Unveiled exhibition.

Every morning, a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk may include geology, wildlife, history, archeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk, enhancing the learning experience. The program is included with park entrance fees.

Red Rock State Park has been a destination for Native Americans for several millennia. Most of the ancient features found in the park are from the Sinagua culture dating about 1100 to 1425 AD. The guide will point out the various archaeological features visible from park trails and interpret them into the wider context of regional Sinagua sites. This program begins with a presentation in the theater followed by a walk along easy to moderate trails. This program is included with park entrance fees. However, due to limited group size, reservations are required. Please call 928-282-6907 to make reservations.
