The Prescott Farmers Market takes place Saturdays from 7:30am to 12:00pm at 900 Iron Springs Road (Dignity Health, YRMC Miller Valley lot at Iron Springs/Miller Valley) from April 4 through October 31, 2026. This market hosts local farmers, ranchers and food and craft vendors each week. When crisis strikes in Yavapai County—often without warning—the Arizona Crisis Team is there. Now, this vital nonprofit is calling on compassionate community members to step forward as a new round of volunteer training begins April 11.

The Arizona Crisis Team (ACT) provides free, around-the-clock emotional, practical, and resource support to individuals and families facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ACT volunteers respond at the request of emergency agencies to scenes involving deaths, attempted suicides, sexual assaults, domestic violence, fires, serious accidents, medical emergencies, and other traumatic events.

While police officers and firefighters focus on public safety, medical care, and fire suppression, ACT volunteers focus on people—offering calm, compassionate support when it is needed most. Their presence allows families and individuals in crisis to begin regaining a sense of control after tragedy, with services delivered respectfully and with sensitivity to cultural and individual differences.

Local first responders say the impact of ACT’s work cannot be overstated. Volunteers themselves describe the work as challenging—but deeply meaningful. Many say it is a privilege to help people navigate both the emotional shock and practical realities of what may be the worst day of their lives.

ACT volunteers commit to three 12-hour shifts per month, scheduled at their convenience, serving either the Greater Prescott (west) or Sedona–Verde Valley (east) chapters. Although volunteers are expected to respond within five minutes of a call, they are free to continue normal activities while on standby. Emergency personnel remain on scene, and ACT dispatchers provide additional support by phone. Ongoing encouragement and training are also offered through monthly meetings and shared experiences with fellow volunteers.

Training takes place over three weekend days in Prescott Valley and prepares volunteers to respond effectively to a wide range of emotional and logistical needs in the community. For the right person, this is more than volunteering—it’s a chance to be a steady presence when it matters most.

The Arizona Wine Country Artists Village invites visitors to experience its next juried fine art and fine craft fair, taking place over the weekend of April 24–26, 2026 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday), at Old Town Activity Park in Cottonwood. This popular event will feature an exceptional lineup of local and regional artists and fine crafters. Admission is free, and the event is welcoming to families and leashed pets.

Old Town Activity Park is located just off Main Street at 187 E. Pima Street, placing the fair within easy walking distance of Cottonwood’s shops, galleries, restaurants, lodging and numerous wine tasting rooms. Nestled within the federally recognized Verde Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA), Artists Village is an ideal destination for a full day of art, food and wine country exploration. Highlights of the April fair will include:

-Top Regional Artists: A juried showcase of fine artists and fine crafters presenting original works in a variety of mediums.
-Free Scavenger Hunt and Raffle: A popular, interactive scavenger hunt featuring donated artwork, with raffle prizes including a $500 cash grand prize.
-Children’s Art Activity Tent: A hands-on creative space where kids can explore art-making in a fun, welcoming environment.

The Sedona Visual Artists’ Coalition (SVAC) is pleased to invite art lovers and curious explorers alike to experience the 23rd Annual Spring Open Studios Tour, taking place over the weekend of April 24–26, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. This free and popular self-guided event offers a rare opportunity to meet 55 working artists across 35 private studios throughout Sedona and the greater Verde Valley.

The Spring Open Studios Tour is a premier regional event offering visitors the unique opportunity to meet local artists, explore their creative processes, and purchase original works across diverse mediums like painting, ceramics, and jewelry. Spanning communities from Sedona to Clarkdale, the tour has been thoughtfully redesigned by the SVAC to minimize driving while maximizing the variety of talent on display. In addition to discovering one-of-a-kind art, attendees can enter a free studio-wide drawing for a $250 gift certificate, redeemable at any participating location.

FORM & FACE: Abstract Bodies and Masked Identities

This dynamic exhibition features the work of acclaimed artists Zarco Guerrero and Kevin Titzer, exploring the intersections of abstraction, the human form, and identity. Through sculptural masks, figurative assemblage, and evocative materials, Form and Face challenges viewers to consider how identity is constructed, concealed, and revealed.
