GOP Plans Rally in Yavapai Cnty Where Dems Don't Have Much Presence

Yavapai County Republicans have planned a rally with some big names this evening in Prescott.

Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl are expected to attend this evening’s “Get Out the Vote” rally at the Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza.

Republican Representative and Senate Candidate Jeff Flake is also scheduled to attend.

Kyl is not seeking re-election, and Flake hopes to take Kyl’s seat in the Senate.

Flake is in a tight race with Democrat Richard Carmona, who hasn’t held an official event in the heavily Republican quad-cities area since late July.

Rally planners also expect Congressional District 4 candidate Paul Gosar to be at this evening’s event.

Gosar, who is currently in Congress, changed districts in order to be in the more safely Republican stronghold.

That strategy seems to have worked.

He is in a lopsided race with Democrat Johnnie Robinson.

Robinson has not made an official appearance in the Prescott area since receiving his party’s nomination in late August.

And he has not reported raising any campaign contributions to the Federal Elections Commission.
