Furloughed: No Back Pay For Federal Contractor

In our latest interview this week with furloughed federal workers in northern Arizona, we hear from someone who will not get backpay when the government eventually reopens. She’s a federal contractor—not technically employed by the U.S. government, but whose income depends on it. She did not want to use her name for a number of reasons, but spoke with KNAU’s Gillian Ferris about some of her fears.

Gillian Ferris was the News Director and Managing Editor for KNAU.
