Crown King Evacuation Lifted With Minimal Growth On Horse Fire

USFS

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says evacuations in the town of Crown King and surrounding communities will be lifted Friday at 4 p.m.

Fire officials say there hasn’t been much recent growth of the 9,500-acre Horse Fire, which is now about half contained. Many local residents had been evacuated as the flames approached several communities bordering national forest land about 18 miles south of Prescott. Area closures remain in effect as fire crews are monitoring the fire. No structures were damaged or destroyed.
