Arizona's US Senators Ask For Federal Dollars To Cover Rio De Flag Flood Control

Jackcentral.com

Arizona’s Senate delegation is pushing for federal funds to complete the Rio de Flag flood control project.

Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Martha McSally both signed a letter to the Army Corps of Engineers encouraging that the project receive full funding during the current fiscal year.

The letter notes that completion of a design for the Rio de Flag flood control project is expected by May, and that the Army Corps of Engineers has received $30 million for feasibility studies, design and phase one construction.

It adds that the project will involve property acquisitions, utility relocations and moving a rail bridge.
