SCHOOL MASK MANDATE

Gov. Ducey has signed legislation preventing Arizona state health officials from ever adding a COVID-19 vaccine to the list of required school inoculations and barring mask mandates in government buildings.

The Governing Board of Flagstaff Unified School District has voted to amend its face mask requirement. After Spring Break, district officials say they will encourage, but not require individuals, to wear face masks on school property.

Parents would have to give explicit permission for schools to be able to require their children to wear face masks under one of a series of bills approved by the Arizona House targeting government rules imposed during the coronavirus pandemic.
