What started out as a small production on a dirt lot, has today turned into a thriving local market with food vendors, art, fresh produce, and more! The Flagstaff Community Market is dedicated to providing an outlet for small-scale vendors the opportunity to thrive in our community by giving them a place to sell their local, sustainably grown food as well as other hand-crafted products. This market also promotes education in the community and works to encourage those in rural and urban parts in the city to grow their own food. The Flagstaff Community Market started in 2000 and now has a partner market focused solely on supporting local artisans called the Flagstaff Urban Flea Market. Please come and enjoy each of the markets and discover what Flagstaff locals have in store for you!

Stop by the NACA Oak Creek Overlook Vista for beautiful & authentic Native American crafts! Our Artisans can also be found at the Grand Canyon Tusayan Museum!

"See your neighbors. Meet your farmers. Know your food." The Prescott Farmers Market takes place Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm at 900 Iron Springs Road (Dignity Health-YRMC Miller Valley lot at Iron Springs/Miller Valley) from November through March. This market hosts local farmers, ranchers and food and craft vendors each week. Customers can find fresh specialty produce, meat, eggs, bread, baked goods, delicious ready-to-eat foods and more. As a vital part of the economy, the mission of Prescott Farmers Market is to support and expand local agriculture, cultivate a healthy community and increase access to affordable local food. We invite you to volunteer at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park!

The duplex-style Riordan Mansion remains one of the finest examples of American Arts and Crafts-
style architecture open to the public today. Designed by the architect of the impressive El Tovar Hotel
at the Grand Canyon, Charles Whittlesey, the homes were built in 1904 with indoor plumbing, hot
and cold running water, central heat, and electric lights, reflecting the most modern technology and
design of the time.
Seen by guided tour only, the interiors of the Riordan family homes look essentially as they did in 1904.
The homes showcase original family belongings including fine examples of early Stickley furniture.

Volunteer opportunities available include Front Desk, Interpretive Tours, Grounds and Maintenance services.

LEARN NATURAL INK & PIGMENT MAKING WITH JILL SANS

Found + Foraged is an art experience that takes you on the journey of process, to observe and connect to nature seasonally, take in what is around you and to create in the present moment of place and time. We will learn about plant pigment, how to create inks from plant material available to you in the kitchen or outside your door, and from there we learn additional steps to transform plant pigment into lake pigment, to watercolor, to pastel.

You will go home with an understanding of the basic steps to make your own art materials from the natural world. A connection through observation, to mindfulness creation. All students will leave with a little nature art box to create at home with; including inks, watercolor and pastel. We will end the session with an art activity that is accessible for all levels of creativity.

All materials are provided, we will do a short mini walk around the garden but all harvesting will have been done beforehand. Found + Foraged will give you the basic knowledge in how to collect ethically and sustainably.

Ages 18 and up

Join a volunteer naturalist for a presentation and walk that examines fascinating story of the pre-Columbian people who lived and traveled in the park. Red Rock State Park has been a destination for Native Americans for several millennia. Most of the ancient features found in the park are from the Sinagua culture dating about 1100 to 1425 AD. The walk portion of the program will identify the various archaeological features visible from park trails and interpret them into the wider context of important regional Sinagua sites. The program lasts about 2 hours.

The program is included with park entrance fees. However, space is limited so call the park to reserve you spots at the beginning of the month of the presentation, (928) 282-6907.
