A new way to bond with your little one this summer: Flutterbys — our ‘mini & me’ family class!

Flutterbys is just 8 weeks long, but more fun than you could imagine! Play games, stretch, learn aerial, and more with your family.

Keep your mini entertained and make long lasting memories with us on Thursdays at 9-9:45am. Can’t make all 8 weeks? Don’t worry! We have a new 5 class punch card available. Choose which weeks you can attend, and keep your wallet happy.

Stop by the NACA Oak Creek Overlook Vista for beautiful & authentic Native American crafts! Our Artisans can also be found at the Grand Canyon Tusayan Museum!

The Overlook Vista is open daily from 8 AM to 4 PM, depending on the weather. Crafts that can be found at our Artisans' tables include jewelry, ornaments, pottery, sculptures and much more! Check out the Oak Creek Overlook Facebook and Yelp pages for more info and up-to-date hours.

Come play the classic game of chess! Chess can help you improve your knowledge, develop cognitive skills, and learn to manage wins and losses all while having fun!

We will have two Beginner Sessions and two Intermediate Sessions:

Beginner Sessions are for those just starting out. We will teach the basic rules of chess and how each piece moves around the board.

Sunday, July 26th, 11:00am - 12:30pm
Monday, August 3rd, 6:00 - 7:30pm

Intermediate Sessions are for anyone who already knows the basics and wants to improve their skills.

Monday, July 27th, 6:00 - 7:30pm
Sunday, August 2nd, 11:00am - 12:30 pm

This program is for ages 7 and up.

Discover Downtown Geology with Willow Bend!
Join Willow Bend for a guided Downtown Geology Tour—a 45-minute to 1-hour walking exploration inspired by local Flagstaff author Marie Jackson’s Stone Landmarks book. This exclusive experience offers a fresh perspective on downtown Flagstaff, blending natural history, architecture, and local heritage. Meeting location sent upon registration.

Learn about the ancient stones used to build Flagstaff’s iconic structures, including Moenkopi Sandstone, Pumiceous Dacite, Kaibab Limestone, and Malapais Basalt. Discover how architectural styles evolved, how preferences for rock types changed over time, and how geology intersects with local history.

Highlights include:

Searching for fossils on the Ice House walls

Identifying the stone known as “Arizona Red”

Visiting a mini “Grand Canyon” at Heritage Square

Viewing intricate stone etchings—and more!

This tour is wheelchair and stroller accessible, and suitable for all ages. Registration is required.

Cost:
$15 for members
$20 for non-members

(Ages 5 and under are free.)

Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel your registration, please email info@willowbendcenter.org with at least 72 hours notice to receive a full refund, or to be rebooked on a future tour.

This event may be cancelled in the event of low attendance or inclement weather. If cancelled, tour participants will be given the option to either receive a refund or be rebooked on a future tour.

All are welcome. All are related.

Are you a local poet or short story author? Everyone is welcome to step up to the mic and share your work or simply attend and enjoy a night of poetry at the library. In order to allow as many readings as possible, each participant will be limited to 6 minutes. Readings will be arranged on a first-come-first-served basis. Prescott Writers is held in partnership with Central Arizona Writers.
