Get FREE one-to-one homework help for your child with the library's Homework Help service for youth in grades K-8! Local high school student volunteers are available to help with homework packets, studying for tests, reading practice, math fact practice, or similar school assignments that your child brings in.Homework Help is available by appointment on Thursdays in the Youth area. Call 928.777.1537 to sign up for a 45-minute appointment, starting at 4 pm or 4:45 pm.This free service is presented in partnership with North Star Youth Partnership and its Peer Assistance & Leadership (PAL) program.

This event, known as parkrun, takes place every Saturday morning - same time, same place, same 5K distance. Run, walk, jog, walk the dog, push the grandchildren in a stroller, or volunteer - this event is free, for everyone, forever. It is an opportunity to get outside into the fresh air with a bunch of like-minded folks. It’s is worldwide. From 10 a.m.–5 p.m. each day, visitors can explore a curated selection of art and entertainment at 2460 W. Happy Valley Road in Phoenix. Admission is free, making it the perfect outing for families, art lovers, and anyone looking for a fun weekend experience.
This three-day festival brings together 50 talented juried artists from across the Southwest, showcasing an exciting mix of painting, pottery, photography, sculpture, jewelry, and Native American art. Stroll through the festival, meet the artists, watch live demonstrations, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how each piece is crafted.
Beyond the art, enjoy a lively atmosphere complete with live entertainment, an artist demonstration area, and 10 onsite restaurants offering plenty of dining options—perfect for making a full day of your visit.
The festival is produced by Marlo Johnson Productions, the Sedona-based team known for popular events like the Oak Creek Arts & Crafts Shows, Art at Anthem, and the PV Arts & Crafts Show.

The duplex-style Riordan Mansion remains one of the finest examples of American Arts and Crafts-style architecture open to the public today. Designed by the architect of the impressive El Tovar Hotelat the Grand Canyon, Charles Whittlesey, the homes were built in 1904 with indoor plumbing, hotand cold running water, central heat, and electric lights, reflecting the most modern technology anddesign of the time.Seen by guided tour only, the interiors of the Riordan family homes look essentially as they did in 1904.The homes showcase original family belongings including fine examples of early Stickley furniture.
Volunteer opportunities available include Front Desk, Interpretive Tours, Grounds and Maintenance services.
