Every morning, a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk may include geology, wildlife, history, archeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk, enhancing the learning experience. The program is included with park entrance fees.

Verde Valley Pottery Festival: Friday, November 13, 2026, 4–6 pm (First Pick Friday, $25 admission); Saturday, November 14, 2026, 10 am–5 pm & Sunday, November 15, 2026, 10 am–3 pm. Now an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, the Verde Valley Pottery Festival returns to D.A.Ranch Vineyards to celebrate and expand appreciation for contemporary studio ceramics. Enjoy a full weekend of pottery shopping from Arizona artists, captivating live wheel-throwing and surface design demonstrations, hands-on family clay activities, local food, live music, and estate-grown wine. Red Rock State Park has been a destination for Native Americans for several millennia. Most of the ancient features found in the park are from the Sinagua culture dating about 1100 to 1425 AD. The guide will point out the various archaeological features visible from park trails and interpret them into the wider context of regional Sinagua sites. This program begins with a presentation in the theater followed by a walk along easy to moderate trails. This program is included with park entrance fees. However, due to limited group size, reservations are required. Please call 928-282-6907 to make reservations.

Meetings are held both in-person and via Zoom and feature presentations by experienced genealogists on a wide range of relevant topics. Open to the public; non-members welcome!

We also partner with the Prescott Public Library and the local Family Search Center to provide in-person as well as Zoom mentoring opportunities to aid in your family research.
