Learning more about the native plants and trees in the local area is a great way to enhance any hike. Our volunteer guides explain how plant life is interconnected with indigenous cultures, pioneer settlers, and people in our contemporary times. This interpretive experience lasts between 1½-2 hours and takes place along easy trails near the Visitor Center. Please bring water and wear suitable footwear for walking on dirt trails.

Join our knowledgeable volunteers as they discuss how Sedona transformed into the landscape that we see today. This interpretive experience begins with a theater presentation followed by a short, easy to moderate walk. Please bring water and wear suitable footwear. This program is included with your park entry fee. However, group size is limited and reservations are required. Please call 928-282-6907 to reserve your spot in the program. The park is located at 4050 Red Rock Loop Rd. Sedona AZ.

Every morning, a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk may include geology, wildlife, history, archeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk, enhancing the learning experience. The program is included with park entrance fees.

Meetings are held both in-person and via Zoom and feature presentations by experienced genealogists on a wide range of relevant topics. Open to the public; non-members welcome!

We also partner with the Prescott Public Library and the local Family Search Center to provide in-person as well as Zoom mentoring opportunities to aid in your family research.
