Join Steve Munsell as he shares his inspirations behind his work as a collector of Navajo Weavings.
This presentation offers a history and interpretation of Navajo Weaving. The relationship between Navajo culture and Dine’ world view is explored as is the historical influence of anglo traders in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Doors open at 6:30pm. The presentation starts at 7:00pm.

*The event is free, but space is limited, and registration is required. For those unable to attend in person, the talk will be live-streamed on our YouTube Channel.

Step through the gate and discover a hidden gem at the Museum of Northern Arizona—the Moore Medicinal Garden. Tucked between MNA’s administration and anthropology buildings on the east side of Highway 180 (across from the Museum building), this quiet, fenced-in space offers a unique opportunity to explore the traditional and contemporary uses of native plants found across the Colorado Plateau.

Led by a knowledgeable guide, the tour highlights how Indigenous communities and early inhabitants of the region have long relied on local plants for healing, nourishment, and ceremony.

Join us at Sharlot Hall Museum for the launch of Exhibit Encounters, a new educational program designed to bring history to life through interactive, hands-on activities in our exhibit spaces.

Explore stories, objects, and themes through artifacts, crafts, demonstrations, and engaging activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and discovery. Designed for learners of all ages, Exhibit Encounters offers families, students, and museum visitors a fresh way to connect with the past.

Step inside the exhibits, roll up your sleeves, and discover how people lived, worked, created, and experienced the world around them.

Exhibit Encounters is included with General Admission and Membership.

Part of 3rd annual Southwest Collaborative Music Convergence Presented by Interference Series

Please join us for the culmination of the 3rd Annual Southwest Collaborative Music Convergence! Spanning three days and two nights, the SWCMC is a one-of-a-kind experience for musicians and audiences alike. Co-facilitators Thollem McDonas and the Interference Series have invited a wide variety of musicians from around the region to create unique sonic experiences that express the dynamics of the Southwest ecologically, socially, culturally, linguistically, and politically. Following the event, Sounding the Constellations, in Buffalo Park the previous night and Downtown Descensions throughout downtown during the day, the Southwest Collaborative Orchestra will be performing in the CCA theater Saturday evening. We are grateful for the opportunity to host all of these exceptional artists who have spent their lives honing their craft through collaboration with others. Most of all, we are excited to share it with the community.
