We’ll discuss the threats contributing to firefly declines, including habitat loss, light pollution, and changing water availability, and highlight ways communities can help protect these remarkable insects. Learn about the firefly species found in Arizona, where they occur, and how you can get involved through conservation and community science efforts. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, gardener, or simply curious about these glowing beetles, this talk will shed light on how we can help fireflies thrive.

This is a free workshop, open to the whole family. Please register to help us make sure we have space for everyone!

Willow Bend Environmental Education Center, in collaboration with the Forager’s Path School of Botanical Studies, is hosting its annual all-day herb event featuring expert-led workshops, hands-on learning, and informative plant walks. Participants will enjoy a full day of learning about the natural resources around us while connecting with local experts, herbalists, and plant enthusiasts.

The event runs from 9 AM to 3 PM, and day-pass attendees will choose from nine workshops across three sessions. Cost: $65 for Willow Bend members, $80 for the public

Aerial classes are a creative way to get involved in the community. This art form is a joyful way to stay active when it’s hot outside. Best of all, our aerial classes are just as affordable as any yoga or dance class! Our high quality classes are taught by professional aerial instructors with years of training and experience.

A new way to bond with your little one this summer: Flutterbys — our ‘mini & me’ family class!

Flutterbys is just 8 weeks long, but more fun than you could imagine! Play games, stretch, learn aerial, and more with your family.

Keep your mini entertained and make long lasting memories with us on Thursdays at 9-9:45am. Can’t make all 8 weeks? Don’t worry! We have a new 5 class punch card available. Choose which weeks you can attend, and keep your wallet happy.

Campers will be immersed in the beauty of nature while utilizing our 200 acre outdoor classroom to enjoy unforgettable hands-on learning and the opportunity to meet other adventurous kids like them!

It is time to get excited for summer 2026 as the Arboretum gets ready to host our annual Eco Explorers Summer Camps! Campers will be immersed in the beauty of nature while utilizing our 200 acre outdoor classroom to enjoy unforgettable hands-on learning and the opportunity to meet other adventurous kids like them! Campers must be prepared to be outdoors most of the day weather permitting.

Camps will be held Monday - Friday from 9:00 am-4:00 pm for kids ages 5-11.

Please note that camps are held at the Arboretum and require guardian transportation to and from camp each day via Woody Mountain Rd

The Coconino County Cooperative Extension Program trains Master Gardener volunteers to provide free science-based horticulture information to our community. This includes information on plant selection, insects, plant diseases, planting, pruning, irrigating, fertilizing, and more. This is a 16-week training.
