Does your child love stories and furry friends? Join us for a tail-wagging good time that nurtures literacy, one paw at a time. Paws for Reading offers a relaxed space where children can read aloud to registered therapy dogs. This program helps build reading confidence, improve fluency, and make reading fun! No registration required. Paws for Reading is presented monthly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 3:30 pm. Picking the right type of editing services to help publish your writings is a key step to ensuring successful sales. In this presentation, Heidi Thomas will touch on some of the more useful types of editing that are best for most genres. She will discuss the different types of editors for novels, memoirs, nonfiction and the sciences as well as the the pros and cons of self-editing. Heidi is an award-winning novelist after writing books based on her grandmother's life: Cowgirl Dreams, Follow the Dream, and Dare to Dream. She has also published a non-fiction book, Cowgirl Up! A History of Rodeo Women. Heidi is a freelance editor, teaches community writing classes, and is working on the next book in her "Rescue" series. Prescott Writers is hosted by Central Arizona Writers and presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.

The CAL Film Series is back! Enjoy classic and contemporary films from 8 different directors who we identify as outsiders in the industry. All screenings are free and open to the public, and include a short introduction from the Pauls—Drs. Paul Helford of Communications and Paul Donnelly of Comparative Cultural Studies—they have been running the film series for years. They love movies and they will help you love them too! After the show, stay for a friendly community discussion about the film.

The duplex-style Riordan Mansion remains one of the finest examples of American Arts and Crafts-style architecture open to the public today. Designed by the architect of the impressive El Tovar Hotelat the Grand Canyon, Charles Whittlesey, the homes were built in 1904 with indoor plumbing, hotand cold running water, central heat, and electric lights, reflecting the most modern technology anddesign of the time.Seen by guided tour only, the interiors of the Riordan family homes look essentially as they did in 1904.The homes showcase original family belongings including fine examples of early Stickley furniture.
Volunteer opportunities available include Front Desk, Interpretive Tours, Grounds and Maintenance services.

Join our new Junior Juggling Squad for kids ages 10-16, led by the awesome Mr. Frankie, an experienced performer and teacher with years of circus-style know-how. Each week, you'll build balance, confidence, coordination, and some seriously cool skills. Whether you're a total beginner or already tossing a few tricks, this club is your place to shine.
