The NAU School of Earth and Sustainability, in partnership with the Flagstaff Fire Department, is currently conducting a public survey regarding prescribed burning perceptions and communication strategies. The survey is open until November 3rd.
This event, known as parkrun, takes place every Saturday morning - same time, same place, same 5K distance. Run, walk, jog, walk the dog, push the grandchildren in a stroller, or volunteer - this event is free, for everyone, forever. It is an opportunity to get outside into the fresh air with a bunch of like-minded folks. It’s is worldwide. Every Saturday about 350,000 people all around the world are doing their own local parkrun. Visit our website and complete a one-time registration so your parkrun efforts can be recorded. Stop by the NACA Oak Creek Overlook Vista for beautiful & authentic Native American crafts! Our Artisans can also be found at the Grand Canyon Tusayan Museum!
The Overlook Vista is open daily from 8 AM to 4 PM, depending on the weather. Crafts that can be found at our Artisans' tables include jewelry, ornaments, pottery, sculptures and much more! Check out the Oak Creek Overlook Facebook and Yelp pages for more info and up-to-date hours.

Bird enthusiasts join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginner and advanced birders. The Audubon Society has designated Red Rock State Park as part of the Lower Oak Creek Important Birding Area (IBA) because of the many species that live or visit here. Please meet up with the leader on the viewing deck above the visitor center. This walk is included with your park entry fee.
Crafts, games, and interactive demonstrations with community partners will teach all about various renewable energy sources - wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, and hydropower.
No registration required—just come ready to learn, create, and have fun!
Science Saturday is an event held on the first Saturday of every month from 9:30am-11:30am. Each month is focused on a different theme and each event offers fun and educational hands-on activities. Artists, scientists, and experts join us on occasion to provide extra special opportunities to learn and explore. There is no need to RSVP and the events are drop-in format.
Thanks to generous funding from Flagstaff365, Creative Flagstaff and the City of Flagstaff BBB Revenues, this event is free and open to the public.
Join the Fall Fix-It Clinic on Saturday, November 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center near Thorpe Park (245 N. Thorpe Rd.) to get your household item repaired and returned to life and kept of the landfill!
Our amazing volunteers can assist with repairs on almost anything, including electronics, jewelry, clothing, bicycles, and more, all for free! While appointments are recommended, they are not required.

Babysitting is a big responsibility! Learn essential skills to care for younger children, handle emergencies, and build trust with families in this Safe Sitter Babysitting and Safety Skills class. Training topics include: CPR, choking rescue, and First Aid; Child care skills; Life and business skills; and Online safety. For youth, ages 11-18. Space is limited and registration is required.
