The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office says the Tuba City District will once again have a resident deputy after the job was vacant for several years.

New evacuations have been ordered today for the Pipeline Fire burning north of Flagstaff. Officials say the fire is estimated to be 5,000 acres with no containment.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to more than a thousand calls for service over Memorial Day Weekend.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has announced it will lift the “GO” evacuation order as of 9:00 AM Sunday morning April 24th, 2022, for the residents living in the neighborhoods along Highway 89. This includes the neighborhoods of Timberline, Fernwood, Wupatki Trails, Girls Ranch Road, and Lenox Park.

The Tunnel Fire northeast of Flagstaff has burned at least two dozen homes as thousands of people have been ordered to evacuate. Heavy winds on Tuesday caused the wildfire to quickly grow to 6,000 acres.

Austin Fiser of Cottonwood, was arrested Monday in Iowa as part of the Yavapai County Silent Witness Catch 22 program.
