Kindled: The Reitz Studio Legacy Exhibition and Sale
December 12th, 2025– January 23rd, 2026

Kindled: The Reitz Studio Legacy brings together the work of Don Reitz and the artists who worked alongside him as studio assistants during his later years at his Arizona ranch. More than just a celebration of Reitz’s singular voice in American ceramics, this exhibition highlights the deep and lasting impact he had on the lives and practices of the artists who supported his studio. Through shared labor, experimentation, and conversation, these assistants became part of a living lineage—absorbing Reitz’s fearless energy, his love of fire and form, and the raw honesty he brought to the material.

This exhibition features ceramic works by a select group of artists who worked closely with Reitz, alongside pieces from Reitz himself. Each artist contributes not only their work but also a written reflection on their time at the ranch and the ways Reitz’s mentorship shaped their creative path. Together, these works tell a story of legacy—not as imitation, but as ignition: a spark passed from one hand to another, kept alive in new forms, new fires, and new voices.

Step right up and learn the art of amazing juggling! Join our new Junior Juggling Squad for kids ages 10-16, led by the awesome Mr. Frankie-an experienced performer and teacher with years of circus-style know-how. Each week, you'll build balance, confidence, coordination, and some seriously cool skills. Whether you're a total beginner or already tossing a few tricks, this club is your place to shine. Come juggle, laugh, and level up! The club meets weekly and attendees are expected to attend for the full 8 weeks. Design and build cool creations with other LEGO lovin' kids at the library! Each month will feature a design challenge, but participants are always welcome to create their own original masterpieces. For children, ages 7-12. Register online, at the Youth Desk, or call 928.777.1537. The Winter Session of the LEGO Challenge Hour meets on December 10, January 14, and February 11. LEGOs will be provided for in-library use. Be sure and bring a camera to capture your creation!Presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.

Come sip tea and make crafts in this in-person craft program for adults. This month, we will create ribbon/trinket bookmarks. This craft is designed for all skill levels and is led by instructor Danielle Derois. Due to limited supplies and materials, registration is limited to 25 people. Group registration is not permitted, individual sign-ups only.  Craft is subject to change. CrafTea Time takes place monthly from September through May and is presented with funding from the Friends of Prescott Public Library.

We invite you to volunteer at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park!

The duplex-style Riordan Mansion remains one of the finest examples of American Arts and Crafts-
style architecture open to the public today. Designed by the architect of the impressive El Tovar Hotel
at the Grand Canyon, Charles Whittlesey, the homes were built in 1904 with indoor plumbing, hot
and cold running water, central heat, and electric lights, reflecting the most modern technology and
design of the time.
Seen by guided tour only, the interiors of the Riordan family homes look essentially as they did in 1904.
The homes showcase original family belongings including fine examples of early Stickley furniture.

Volunteer opportunities available include Front Desk, Interpretive Tours, Grounds and Maintenance services.
