Every morning, a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk may include geology, wildlife, history, archeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk, enhancing the learning experience. The program is included with park entrance fees.

Support historic preservation in Prescott and Yavapai County at the twenty-second annual Prescott Antique Show and Vintage Market, happening October 9th and 10th.
Hosted at the historic Prescott Rodeo Grounds, this community event features a wide range of authentic antiques, furniture, period home goods, Native American and other vintage jewelry plus upcycled decor. This year’s event also introduces a dedicated Country Market highlighting local artisan craftsmen. One-hundred percent of proceeds from the event directly fund regional restoration, history, and education initiatives.

Chair yoga allows you to do yoga regardless of your ability, and will help you build and keep your strength, flexibility and balance. Instructor Lori Wallach has been teaching yoga for over 14 years, and has experience teaching all kinds of yoga, from power yoga to meditation. Presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.

Looking for a relaxed and enjoyable way to spend the afternoon? Game-n-Gab offers a friendly space to play a variety of board games, card games, party games, and puzzles, all while engaging in great conversation. Come solo or bring a friend and enjoy a low-key, social atmosphere.

Looking for an excuse to hang out with cool people and make some art? Look no further! Come, relax, and participate in group sketching prompts. This is NOT an art class, but beginners are more than welcome!
Extra drawing utensils and paper pads will be provided.

This 36-hour hackathon welcomes not only technology enthusiasts, programmers and developers, but also artists, entrepreneurs, scientists, educators, activists, students and community members. Participants from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise will collaborate to develop creative digital solutions addressing critical and timely social issues.

Unlike conventional hackathons typically designed for computer programmers and developers, Hacks for Humanity invites university and community participants above the age of 18 of all skill levels and disciplines to engage in creative problem-solving rooted in ASU Project Humanities’ Humanity 101® principles: compassion, empathy, forgiveness, integrity, kindness, respect and self-reflection.

This year’s event centers on these four themes:

AI and Humanity: As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life, how can society ensure that humans retain agency, dignity and trust?

Aging and Labor: The nature of work is rapidly changing because of automation, gig economies and shifting workplace expectations. How do these changes intersect with the needs and experiences of an aging population?

Children and Social Media: Social media is creating new forms of digital identity. How are these online identities shaping and affecting children today?

Parenting: Caring for and nurturing another human being may be one of life’s most challenging responsibilities. How can caring for loved ones, at any age, be improved for everyone involved?

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to join theatres around the world for a special global cinema event, “Queen Budapest”, coming to the Mary D. Fisher and Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatres for two shows only on Oct. 7 and 10.

Calling all Queen fans … you have the chance to watch Queen’s momentous concert movie, on the big screen.

On July 27, 1986, Queen performed the largest-ever stadium concert at the Népstadion in Budapest in front of 80,000 ecstatic fans. The concert was part of the famed Magic Tour, which was the last time the band toured with lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Now, this original concert film has been beautifully rescanned and remastered in 4K alongside a dynamic new audio mix, featuring many of Queen’s favorite tracks — ”Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “I Want To Break Free” and “We Are The Champions.”

With three years to go before the fall of the Berlin Wall, this was the first Western rock concert performed in a stadium behind the then Iron Curtain. It was of such significance to the Hungarian authorities and film industry that a group of the country’s top film cameramen and technicians were brought together to film it for posterity.

“Queen Budapest” is a must–see cinema event for Queen fans across the world.

“Queen Budapest” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m. and at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m.

Early Artist Entry NOW OPEN
The Flagstaff Plein Air Festival will take place from October 4–25, 2026, challenging both painters and photographers to capture the beauty of the Northern Arizona region, on location. This multi-day event blends artistic practice with community engagement, environmental awareness, and visual storytelling.

At the culmination of the festival, participants will showcase their work in a professionally juried exhibition. The public is welcome to watch the artists at work throughout the week, participate in a variety of workshops and presentations, and purchase completed artwork at the culminating First Glimpse Reception and Sale. A two-week Festival Exhibition to follow.
