Join the Fix-It Clinic on Saturday, August 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center near Thorpe Park (245 N. Thorpe Rd.) to get your household item repaired and returned to life and kept of the landfill!

Our amazing volunteers can assist with repairs on almost anything, including electronics, jewelry, clothing, bicycles, and more, all for free! While appointments are recommended, they are not required.

Calendula Salve Workshop with Gina Goegan

Long before the pharmacy, there was the garden.

Join Arboretum Greenhouse Manager Gina Goegan for a hands-on two-hour workshop exploring one of the plant world’s most beloved healers — the calendula. Bright, resilient, and deeply rooted in herbal tradition, calendulas have been used for centuries to soothe, restore, and protect. In this intimate workshop, Gina will guide you through the process of crafting your own traditional healing salve using calendulas grown right here at The Arb.

You’ll leave with a jar of salve you made yourself — and a new appreciation for what a garden can offer beyond its beauty.

Step into the studio of Bruce Horn, NAU Emeritus Professor of Art, and be amazed. At eighty years young, Horn paints almost every day -- whether in his studio, en plein air or traveling somewhere around the world. In conjunction with the Flagstaff Open Studios tour, Horn will feature his recent oil paintings and more at his home and studio, 2197 N Twisted Limb Way in Flagstaff.

Young artists and explorers are invited to discover the wonders of the night through hands-on creative activities inspired by NightVisions

Led by educator and artist Erika Tsouras, this interactive workshop encourages participants to investigate the beauty of dark skies, light, color, and imagination while creating their own artworks.

Designed for youth and families, the workshop combines art-making, observation, and discussion to help participants explore how artists, scientists, and cultures around the world understand the night. No prior artistic experience is necessary. All materials will be provided.

Easton Collection Center Open House

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the Museum of Northern Arizona collections at our annual Easton Collection Center Open House. This year’s theme is Artist Hopid.

Explore the art and legacy of Artist Hopid—the visionary collective of five Hopi artists from the 1970s. View works by Michael Kabotie, Delbridge Honanie, Terrance Talaswaima, Neil David Sr., and Milland Lomakema. You’ll encounter a rich variety of objects from across our fine art, natural sciences, ethnography, and archaeology collections. MNA curators and staff will be on hand to share stories and surprising connections between human creativity and the natural world.

This event complements our current Artist Hopid Unveiled exhibition, and offers a deeper dive into the Museum’s interdisciplinary approach to understanding and celebrating life on the Colorado Plateau.

The Easton Collection Center is located on the opposite side of Fort Valley Road from the Museum. Coming from central Flagstaff, turn right at the Harold S. Colton Research Center sign. Go up the short drive to a parking area. The Easton Collection Center is the tall modern sandstone colored building with a sloping living roof.

This free community event is designed to connect women with healthcare resources, education, screenings, and wellness services across every stage of life. We are bringing together healthcare providers, nonprofits, wellness professionals, and community organizations to create an accessible, welcoming, and informative experience for the Flagstaff community.
